Full Bio
Twin Citizen started as more than a band. In 2021, guitarist Adam Lifto put out a simple call for musicians in recovery, people to walk that path with. The four-piece that came together, Joe Hartley, Adam Lifto, Laura Lunde, and Sam McKinney, has been bound by that shared foundation ever since.
The mission was never to preach. It is to show up authentic. Twin Citizen plays the same rooms most bands do, places built around alcohol, and proves that being alive, sober, and creative can happen all at once. Recovery, as the band puts it, is a core component that will always sit at the essence of who they are.
That honesty is the engine behind the sound. Funk, alternative, synth, and progressive textures run underneath songs built to connect, what Adam half-jokingly calls Radiohead and the Red Hot Chili Peppers covering Pink Floyd. Whatever the influences, every song still sounds like Twin Citizen.
Some of the most meaningful moments happen after the set, in honest conversations about sobriety, mental health, and starting over. The band is now heads-down on its most ambitious work yet, a self-recorded, self-produced full-length, with new singles on the way and the record targeted for 2027.
